Fatal accident in Henfield

A man died after his car collided with an electricity pole.

The man was driving in a Mercedes west along Upper Station Road in Henfield at the time of the incident at 7.38pm yesterday (Friday).

The car left the road before colliding with the pole at the junction with Broomfield Road.

The driver, who has not been named but is believed to be from Henfield, died at the scene.

Police are investigating the causes and appealing for information about the incident. If you saw anything, call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Settle.
